Beyond my first memories, art has always been my passion, gift, and identity. While I was in art school, I took a glass class. Success with my first cast glass art sculpture captured my creativity, and the desire to learn more about this media. Previously focused on painting and drawing, the challenge and imagery that emerged, provided me the opportunity to continue my studies at SJSU and receive my MFA in spatial arts. I established glass casting programs in a creative arts camp in Connecticut, and last summer in a summer camp with a fantastic art program in Pennsylvania. As an art teacher, I have designed glass casting lessons for my classes as an art teacher in California, and the students have achieved outstanding glass 3-D work.
Becoming a partner in ARTCO has supported me in my search for quality materials that I require to produce the demanding level of craftsmanship my sculptures achieve. I will continue to explore new media that will help me discover new and better ways of working with glass, and other related art forms. Sharing this information with the art community is important, and will be updated on ARTCO when success with new products is achieved.
